Profile

Melissa started her legal career with the firm’s Real Estate & Conveyancing Department and has since developed a specialty in the areas of corporate real estate, conveyancing and banking, which primarily encompass the following work:

• representing major landlords and building owners, as well as prospective tenants, in commercial and industrial leasing transactions in Singapore, which include the drafting, review and negotiation of leases;
• acting for vendors and purchasers in acquisitions, disposals, and sale and lease back transactions for residential, commercial and industrial properties and developments;
• representing banks and financial institutions, as well as borrowers, in residential, commercial and industrial property financing transactions, which involve mortgages, charges, deeds of assignment and other various securities;
• advising and carrying out legal due diligence on indirect property transactions, which include the sale and purchase of property-holding companies via share transfer; and
• advising management corporations and subsidiary proprietors on matters relating to the strata-titled developments, which include issues relating to the control and management of common property and the termination of strata scheme.
