Profile

Lin Piah began his career as a litigator, appearing in civil, matrimonial and criminal proceedings. He conducted and advised dispute resolution and settlement in courts, arbitration and mediation. Amongst the notable cases handled are enforcement of foreign judgement enforcements, shareholder disputes, building & construction disputes, defamation proceedings and adverse possession claims.

As corporate counsel in several companies active in software development, payment services, engineering and energy utilities, he had oversight of legal issues traversing general corporate, industry regulations and day-to-day operations. His experience included advising, negotiating and drafting documentation related to finance, investment, joint venture, IP, real estate as well as diverse supplies and services contracts.

At Tan Peng Chin LLC since 2008, Lin Piah acts regularly for local and foreign banks in a variety of banking & finance transactions, including bilateral & syndicated lending, and trade finance. He also advises on corporate governance and diverse commercial matters such as employment, procurement, joint ventures, acquisitions and divestments.
