Jeh Yaw’s interests lies in the criminal law, family law and commercial practice. He has served in the public sector as a Deputy Public Prosecutor and as an in-house legal counsel in a statutory board. He also served as the Company Secretary of several private limited companies.

Working Experience
Jeh Yaw was a Deputy Public Prosecutor where he prosecuted cases under the Penal Code, Misuse of Drugs Act, Immigration Act and the Prevention of Corruption Act in the criminal courts. He has also assisted in capital cases in the Supreme Courts.

Prior to being a Deputy Public Prosecutor, he was with the Ministry of Manpower where he prosecuted cases under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act, Employment Agency Act and the Employment Act. He also assisted to provide all manner of legal advice to the Ministry’s operational divisions, enforcement proceedings and investigation.

He assisted to set up legal departments in both the government and non-government sectors. At the Singapore Workforce Development Agency, he established the legal department and subsequently developed the department into a core support unit. He also provided legal advice to the Agency’s operational divisions, enforcement proceedings, audit and investigation.

He was also the Head, Legal, and company secretary of several private limited companies where he had the opportunities to provide all manner of legal advice to the senior management of the companies.

He returned to practice again and joined boutique law firms specializing in criminal litigation, wills, probate and administration, divorce proceedings, family violence, maintenance for the spouse, appointing a deputy under the Mental Capacity Act, custody, care and control of the children and the division of matrimonial assets following a divorce.

He is also an active volunteer with the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme, the Legal Aid Bureau and the Legal Assistance for Capital Offences.

He has recently assisted with 3 High Court capital cases as a junior counsel and has acted as defence counsel in many other cases in the State Courts and the Family Courts.
