Stephen re-joined Tan Peng Chin LLC in 2003 after two years in the financial services department of Allen & Gledhill.

He has more than 10 years’ experience in general corporate and banking work. Currently, he is part of our Asset and Wealth Management Practice, and has been actively involved in advising on the establishment and offer
of public retail funds, restricted funds and private funds, fund structures, setting up and licensing of fund management companies, tax incentives relating to the asset and wealth management industry, CPFIS matters and SFA-related issues, amongst others.

Previously, he has acted as lead counsel for banking syndicates extending financing to public listed companies in Singapore and advised on the structured financing of iron and steel (in Malaysia and Thailand), wheat flour (Vietnam), metals (PRC) and oil. He has also advised a number of banks and developers on the financing of housing projects and more recently, a boutique hotel on Sentosa Island. In addition, he has expertise in corporate matters such as joint ventures, share purchases, technology licensing, consultancy agreements, employment matters and franchising. Recently, he advised several social entrepreneurs on setting up and running charitable organizations and VWOs
